Rwanda has the second largest number of mountain gorillas in Africa and so provides intrepid travellers the perfect setting of mountains and tropical terrain to go in search of this impressive primate.
Rwanda also provides an opportunity to glimpse chimpanzees and colobus monkeys in the Nyungwe National Park.
Kigali, the country’s capital is also well worth a visit with its amazing views over terraced hills, as well as housing the Kigali Memorial Centre, documenting the atrocities of the civil war in 1994.

Rwanda Gorilla tracking Special

This is a short visit to Rwanda's Parc National des Volcans to see the gorillas. It makes a great add-on to a safari in Kenya or Tanzania or a beach extension to Zanzibar, but if you can, we recommend a slightly longer tour such as the Northern Rwanda: Gorillas & Kivu Private Tour.
Day 1 - Depart to Rwanda - There many connection for Kigali Rwanda. BA, Kenya airways etc
Day 2 - Kigali
On arrival in Kigali, you will be met and assisted by your guide and driver who will transfer you to Musanze near Parc National des Volcans to stay 2 nights at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge, all meals included (drive time approx 2½ hours). Mountain Gorilla View Lodge is a simple lodge within close reach of the main headquarters of Rwanda's Volcanoes National Park (Parc National de Volcans). The individual stone cottages are well spaced from each other with en suite facilities, set in lovely grounds with views of the Volcanoes. The main area has a bar and restaurant serving tasty meals using local ingredients. Do take warm clothes in winter months as these mountainous areas can get surprising cold for Africa.
Day 3 - Volcanoes National Park
After an early breakfast, you will be met by staff from ORTPN Park Headquarters. You will be briefed on appropriate conduct whilst gorilla trekking and then trackers will lead you into the forested slopes to seek one of the groups of Mountain Gorillas. Prepare yourself for you’re about to meet the relatives. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 4 - Volcanoes National Park & Kigali
Today you ca visit Dian Fosey’s memorial, trek to see the golden monkeys and or be driven to Lake Kivu to relax there. Make sure that you get to visit the cultural centres to learn more about this wonderful country.
Day 5 - After a morning city tour, you will be transferred to the airport to check in for your flight home.
