Sandfield Travel, with our team’s specialist knowledge and experience of gorilla tracking the Ugandan terrain for all primate and chimpanzees, means that we can promise and deliver an unforgettable experience and an adventure of a lifetime.
When is the best time to visit?
Gorilla and chimp trekking can be done all year round. Although permits are very limited, we have the experience and the contacts to make it happen for you.
How you can make a difference in this trip?
While you experience an adventure of a lifetime, you are also contributing to the betterment of the mountain gorilla family. There are only 700 mountain gorillas left in the world. Uganda is home to more than half of this population.
The cost of a gorilla permit, USD500 per person goes towards the preservation of these endangered creatures. The mountain gorillas’ survival is directly dependent on money from travelers’ permits, and so means that each authorised traveler is contributing to the primate’s protection whether it is through the funding of anti-poaching programs, or the maintenance of the natural habitats within the various national parks.
So whilst we are ensuring your holiday experience is a trip of a lifetime, we are also supporting the survival of the gorilla population in Uganda.
