SAMPLE ITINERARY

14 day Volunteering safari in Uganda
From £750 per person for a group of two. Cost is based per person sharing a double room.

One of our leading and most popular adventure trips, this trip combines working on a project to build a clinic, painting an orphanage classroom or working with the local church in helping local small scale farmers and enjoying a wild life safari at the end. Whatever, your skill, this package will be tailored to suit your interest.

Day 1 - Arrive to Entebbe
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by SandfieldTravel team member. Arrival on a morning or early afternoon flight will be best. You will be able to exchange money and settle in at your accommodation. Dinner will be at your accommodation. Rest and settle in.

Day 2 - Kampala City Tour
Our experienced guide will take you through the sights and sounds of this hilly city.  Meet people renowned for their friendliness and visit cultural sites. The tour can include the Uganda Museum, Kasubi Tombs, Makerere University, Nakasero Market, Craft markets, Namirembe Cathedral, and more. Enjoy a traditional Uganda style lunch at a local favorite restaurant.  Spend the whole day in town. Return to the accommodation for dinner.

Day 3 - 7 - Project
After breakfast, you will be taken and introduced to the staff at Orphanage and given a guided tour. After this initial introduction, you will then have the opportunity to become involved straight away.  You will begin work on the building project.  While working, you will also have time to connect with the kids. You will take a packed lunch.  Return to your hotel for dinner.

Day 8 - Swim and Ndere
Today you will rest in the morning and then go to Speke Resort for a swim and have a lazy afternoon. In the evening, we will go to Ndere Cultural Centre to watch a variety of Uganda culture performances with songs and dances from the major tribes of Uganda. Have dinner there.

Day 9 - 10 - Project
Spend the whole day at the project, where packed lunch will be provided.  Go back to the accommodation in the evening for dinner.

Day 11 - Murchison Falls National Park
You will leave Kampala, head to Murchison Falls National Park in the northwestern part of Uganda. On your way, you will see people doing their day to day activities that help them earn a living. With lunch en route, you will arrive in early evening and then have a short tester game drive. Check-in at your accommodation for dinner and overnight at Red Chili.

Day 12 - Game drive
We do an early morning game drive, a good time to see the predators. Other animals to see in this park are warthog, hyena, giraffe, elephant, kob and many more.  This game drive will last a minimum of 4 hours; you can choose whether to have your breakfast packed before you leave for the game drive or have it when you come back from the game drive.  Be back to accommodation in time to freshen up and have lunch. You will then go for the boat launch at exactly 2:00 pm; it starts at Paraa Lodge and ends at the foot of Murchison falls, lasting 3 hours. This boat trip will enable you to see Hippos, crocodiles and a lot of bird life.  Dinner at your accommodation.

Day 13 - Back to Kampala
This day, you will have a relaxed breakfast as you go back home. You will go to the top of the falls on your way out of the park. You then will have your lunch on the way back, and return to Kampala in the evening.

Day 14 - Departure
Today, you will go for shopping, pack and say your goodbyes (depending on flights). You will head off to Entebbe International Air port for your flight back home.  An afternoon or evening flight will be best.

Includes: Accommodation, Guide/Driver, 3 meals a day, entry fees, Bottled water, airport transfers and transport in 4WD.
