One Day Safari

Kampala City Tour

Discover the hidden treasures of the capital city of Uganda…yet the naturally friendly and passionately welcoming people plus plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits are not hidden…

Our tour guide will meet you at your hotel after breakfast and lead you to various famous and exclusive, cultural, religious and historical sites of the city. Start your day’s fascination by visiting Africa’s largest man-made lake locally known as ‘Kabaka’s Lake’ meaning that it was made for and it remains the property of the King of Buganda. This lake of wonders is located in the valley between the Rubaga Cathedral – The biggest and main Church of the Catholic religion in Uganda, ‘The Bulange’- the King’s administrative office and ‘The Lubiri’- the King’s Palace. Your guide will give you a rich history as you visit these treasured sites of Kampala.

The Anglican main church at Namirembe is just a few meters from ‘The Bulange’ and worth visiting on your way to ‘Kasubi Tombs’ – a UNICEF world heritage site (currently under renovation). The Nearby Gadaffi Mosque (Old Kampala) is an important landmark for the Muslim community being the largest mosque in the country whereas the next hill is occupied by the historical and Africa’s prominent Makerere University that has groomed many African leaders (both corporate and political).

Proceed to the National Museum and learn a lot about Uganda’s History and culture before visiting Bahai Temple – Africa’s largest Temple for those who belong to the Bahai faith, relax and enjoy the serenity and the beauty of the gardens at the Temple.

Somewhere in the middle of your tour you will break for lunch and enjoy either a local buffet or any of the international cuisines of your preference. Namugongo Martyr’s shrine is worth visiting before you end you day’s tour of Kampala city
