A Zebra Safari in Uganda –Lake Mburo National Park The Zebra’s play ground.

Not many animals look so nice, appealing to eyes and with amazing colour patterns as a Zebra. In Uganda, these wonderful animals can only be found in Lake Mburo. This game park is the closet to Uganda’s capital city, Kampala.

ON my recent trip to this amazing park with my Family, I had a privilege to see the amazing Zebras doing all sort of things zebras love doing; playing, looking at strangers and crossing the the road. At real Zebra crossing.

My wife loves these animals so is my 18 months daughter, I couldn’t contain myself seeing both of them getting so excited at the sight of the amazing zebras.

If already in Uganda, it’s a very easy trip to add on your Ugandan wildlife Adventure, it takes around 3-4 hours to get there from Kampala. The road is all tarmac from Kampala to the entrance of the park. There are plenty of this to do on the way including the obligatory photo shot at the Equator. Or a stopover at Mpabile drum market.

For birders there park, has some amazing treat for you too, you can see some of the amazing birds either on the way to the park or inside the park.

Not only Zebras are found in Lake Mburo, there are plenty of game for you to see include all types of kobs , wild pigs ( warthogs), elusive Eland and elephants  there some people who claim to have seen lions and leopards here.

Accommodation options in Lake Mburo.

Lake Mburo National park is like many other in Uganda. There is a great variety of accommodation selection from the budget tented camps at the UWA, to the mid-range types like the newly opened Rwakobo rock or Lake Mburo lodge but also the luxury types. I have stayed in both Rwakobo rock as well as Mburo safari lodge, they’re great and I think these two are currently the best priced value for money out of the rest. Rwakobo rock has some stunning views in the rainy season and during and on a clear day you can almost see the great rwenzori mountain ranges.

Costs of a full safari trip to lake Mburo National park.
