11 Day Uganda Safari & Gorilla Trekking!

Overview

This 10day tailor-made private Uganda Safari gives you an opportunity to see Uganda’s main game parks; including Murchison Falls National park, Bwindi Impenetrable and Lake Mburo for Zebras. On this trip you will get to see many wildlife in their natural habitats like lions, elephants etc. and many bird species and many monkeys as well as the mighty mountain Gorillas. You will also be visiting Jinja for the source of River Nile and white water Rafting

Day 1

Entebbe – Kampala

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by Sandfieldtravel team member. Arrival on a morning or early afternoon flight will be best. You will be able to exchange money and settle in at your accommodation. Dinner will be at your accommodation.
You will have an English speaking driver/guide who will be with you throughout your stay in Uganda

Day 2

Kampala- Buhoma Bwindi area

After Breakfast, You will set off for Bwindi National park. You will aim to leave Kampala at around 7am; you will have lunch on the way to Bwindi.

  • Accommodation at: Buhoma Community rest camp.

Day 3

Gorilla trekking

You embark on the long awaited adventure of Gorilla trekking in the Bwindi Impenetrable forest. The jungle being unpredictable, it is difficult to estimate how long you may hike; however, the excursion may take 3-8 hours. Encounter and viewing of Gorillas lasts a maximum of one hour, which is a conservation rule. Dinner and overnight at your accommodation at Buhoma Haven lodge.

Day 4

Bwindi National forest park – Mburo National park

You will set off early after breakfast you will drive directly to Mburo National park, you will have lunch on the way and get to Mburo in the afternoon. You will stay just outside the park boundaries, but it will feel like being in the middle of the park. From your veranda and restaurant, you have a great view over the park and its wildlife.

Day 5

Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, you will drive  and enter the for a bush walk. . It is  only  in Mburo Ugandan national parks (besides Kidepo Valley NP) which is home to Zebra, Eland and Impala, as well as an abundance of other nanimals. After the bush walk you will have a short game drive to the lake there after you leave for kampala. Luch shall be at Equator.

Day 6

Kampala – Murchison Falls National Park

You will leave Kampala, head to Murchison Falls National Park in the northwestern part of Uganda. On your way, you will see people doing their day to day activities that help them earn a living. With lunch en route, you will arrive in early evening and then have a short tester game drive. Check-in at your accommodation for dinner. Sambya River Lodge.

Day 7

Game drive

We do an early morning game drive, a good time to see the predators. Other animals to see in this park are warthog, hyena, giraffe, elephant, kob and many more. This game drive will last a minimum of 4 hours; you can choose whether to have your breakfast packed before you leave for the game drive or have it when you come back from the game drive. Be back to accommodation in time to freshen up and have lunch. You will then go for the boat launch at exactly 2:00 pm; it starts at Paraa Lodge and ends at the foot of Murchison falls, lasting 3 hours. This boat trip will enable you to see Hippos, crocodiles and a lot of bird life.

Day 8

Murchison Falls – Ziwa Rhino sanctuary

After breakfast, you will set off for Kampala; you will have lunch in Ziwa. Have a rest and take a 5pm bush walk, there is a lot to see here do not be surprised if you see a shoebill one of the must see bird on any birders list.

Day 9

Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Early morning, you will head out with the rangers to track the rhinos, see the amazing animals that had been hunted to extinction during Uganda turbulent years in 1970s.  You will learn about the continued conservation work to make them thrive in Uganda’s wild parks.

Day 10

Ziwa – Kampala

Around 11 am, you will set off for Kampala. Getting there at around 2pm go straight to your hotel and rest.

Day 11

Departure

After your breakfast, your guide will take you for a souvenir shopping before you have lunch. You have an early lunch on the way to the airport, as you need to be at airport 2 hours before your flight.

You will aim to leave Kampala by 11am. The shopping will be for about 1.5 to 2hours.
